Prana Vashya Yoga Shala

Right Breath. Right Posture. Right Control.

Situated in a prime and popular area of Mysuru, the Yoga Capital of the World, Prana Vashya Yoga Shala aims to bring balance and harmony to the mind and body by using breath as a powerful tool.

II The New School of Yoga II

Breath, Body, and Mind are the three cornerstones of yoga practice at Prana Vashya Yoga Shala. The Shala focuses on supporting students and practitioners of all levels while helping them understand the importance of proper breathing. Breath supports practitioners in attaining correct postures, which in turn promotes healing. Prana Vashya is regarded as the New School of Yoga by the many students and practitioners from around the world who regularly practice at the Shala.

Prana Vashya Yoga Shala aims to create harmony between the mind and body through the conscious use of breath. By establishing a constant and meaningful connection between the mind and body, individuals can develop the ability to relax through our specially designed Yogasana sequences and recommended breathing patterns. This pranic energy or life force also aids in healing the body. It is with this intention that the dynamic approach was introduced at Prana Vashya Yoga Shala.

Our Mission
For over 25 years, the Shala has imparted knowledge of Yoga to thousands of practitioners. Students and practitioners from different parts of the world come here seeking knowledge of Yoga for various purposes, ranging from therapeutic applications to advanced Yogasana practices, and have found guidance under the experienced mentorship of Yogacharya Vinay Kumar.

This sharing of knowledge is further strengthened by Vinay Kumar’s personalized approach to understanding individual needs. To ensure quality guidance, he limits each batch to a maximum of 25 students. Practice and self-realization are the key focus areas at the Shala. Prana Vashya Vinyasa Krama is a unique method of practice that offers practitioners an ideal balance of flexibility and strength.

Our Vision
To help develop strength and flexibility in the anterior, posterior, diagonal, and transverse lines of the body while simultaneously maintaining a dynamic approach to practice.

Our Objective
To help individuals connect with the mind and understand the various patterns of fluctuation created by the interaction of the sensory organs and the respiratory system, ultimately directing attention toward the leader of all senses—the Mind—and thereby connecting with the Guru within.
