Here, the Pupil is asking the Teacher to give him the right knowledge. He is chanting the Mantra with a confidence that the teacher or the Guru is dedicated to show him the right path. This feeling of self surrender will help the practitioner to experience the heights of achievement with ease.

Yogena Chittasya Padena Vacha
Malam Sharirasya Cha Vaidya Kena
Yopakarotham Pravaram Muninam
Patanjali Pranjali Ranatosmi

I salute the great Master Patanjali. He taught Yoga to heal the mind. He taught Ayurveda to heal the body. He taught the Mantras for healing on all levels. I salute him again and again - may I attain freedom.

This is a procedure which means to reach the formless through the form. That is, I bow to my Guru who is assisting me to gain freedom (in the first prayer), and also to that Guru who is responsible for imparting this precious knowledge to my Guru.

This feeling of humbleness will reduce the Ego in the practitioner. With this, he will be able to reduce the fluctuations of the mind easily. This is the key for experiencing development, not just in practice, but in Life.

Finishing Prayer

Aum Poornamadah Poornamidam Poornat Poornamudachyate,
Poornasya Poornamaadaya Poornamevavashishyate,
Aum Shantihi Shantihi Shantihi

That is Absolute (Full/Complete), This is Absolute, Absolute arises out of Absolute, If Absolute is taken away from Absolute, Absolute remains OM Peace, Peace, Peace.

This Chanting is done with a feeling of gratitude, both by the teacher and the taught. The student thanks the teacher for imparting more knowledge and on the other hand, the teacher thanks the student for giving him an opportunity to enhance his own knowledge. There is nothing which can be taught nor learnt. There is no knowledge which will reduce when shared with others.

The work of a Teacher is just to show the right way to the student depending upon his capabilities. The more intensely the cognitive processes happen in the students mind, the more satisfied the teacher is. The sun shines evenly all over the earth but the clouds decide how much of light each part will receive. The cloud refers to fluctuations in the mental status, the lesser the clouds, the greater the sunshine (knowledge).
